First Store in Warwick Mall Reopens for Business

(NECN: Warwick, RI) - It was an iconic symbol of the historic and devastating flooding in New England -- the Warwick Mall in Warwick, Rhode Island surrounded by several feet of flood water.

Today, a major step was made in the mall's effort to reopen.

The Sports Authority has reopened for business.

While that store did not suffer any water damage, the flooding caused poor air quality inside, which forced the store to close for six weeks.

The store manager says today feels like a grand opening.

The rest of the mall remains closed. It will reopen in phases with Target expecting to be back in business on August 3.
