Thursday To-do List for Hurricane Irene

(NECN) - Meteorologist Matt Noyes suggests you do the following things on Thursday to prepare for Hurricane Irene: Determine evacuation routes (if track is verified, may have some evacuations this weekend), check flashlights and generators, trim trees, clear home gutters, review insurance policies and make room for light objects such as lawn furniture.

Noyes says we will get significant reports of damage from the Bahamas as he has no doubt because of the strength of the storm, a category 3 with winds of 120 mph.

The forecast takes this thing north and just east of the Outer Banks, and it will run the coast and may become a category 2 by Sunday.

There is some deviation possible, but Noyes doesn’t think it will be too much.
