(NECN) - Police in Norwood, Mass. say they are searching for the driver who struck a police cruiser before fleeing the scene.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning on Union Street.

Police saya small, black sedan side-swiped the cruiser, causing it to hit a telephone poll.

The officer was not hurt in the crash.
