(NECN) - Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has unveiled his plans to shake up his cabinet.
It's a move intended to reduce the number of cabinet-level positions within his administration and improve services for residents of the city.
Walsh's plan calls for a 17-member cabinet.
The mayor says he merged departments with similar interests and changed some of the cabinet titles.
The plan also removes three positions that had long been part of the cabinet, the heads of the Boston Housing Authority, Boston Public Health Commission, and Property and Construction Management.
