(styleboston) - The Boston Harbor Hotel is the home for this year's Boston Wine Festival and Eric Levin takes a behind the scenes look with Chef Daniel Bruce. Daniel hosts the wine dinner that is available at the Meritage Restaurant and creates dishes to enhance the wine's natural flavor. He encourages anyone who attends to have fun, take notes, and ask as many questions as they want.
Eric then moves back to the kitchen to meet La Jota Vineyards winemaker Chris Carpenter. Chris tells Eric that the best way to enjoy a glass of wine is to smell it first. After looking for fruit and spice smells, the first sip should provide a refreshing yet dry feeling. Chris also recommends Eric creates bubbles in his mouth with the wine. This helps the beverage travel to the nasal passages and helps the wine taster enjoy it with multiple senses. Eric also finds out that the festival offers wine that cannot be found anywhere else. With the vast knowledge he has acquired, Eric leaves the restaurant confident that he is now a wine connoisseur.
