(NECN) - A teenager has died after she was hit by a small box truck in Randolph, Mass. Thursday.

17-year-old Tonnecia Long was a student at the B.B. Russell Alternative School in Brockton.

Randolph's police chief says she was walking home from a convenience store on Union Street when she was hit by the rear wheels of the trailer.

Grief counselors are being called into the school to be made available for students, faculty and staff.

At the mayor's annual youth summit held Thursday night, there was a moment of silence for Tonnecia.

The driver did stop, but it's unclear if that person will face charges.
