(NECN: Justin Michaels) - Brockton, Mass. police confirm they have arrested a suspect for the home invasion and stabbing of a 62-year-old woman.

The call came in to Brockton police around 7:30 Tuesday night that there was an armed home invasion at Brookfield Drive.

According to the Enterprise, Michelle Foley was stabbed in the throat and is in critical condition. Police were forced to break through the door at this home to get inside to help her after 911 was called.

Neighbors say Foley has lived in the neighborhood for several decades. They also say she is the person to greet all new neighbors to the community.
