(NECN) - A source close to the investigation tells us the police activity along route 128 in Massachusetts earlier Tuesday is connected to the Aaron Hernandez murder case.
State police were seen searching the median of 128 south Tuesday afternoon. This was just north of the route 109 exit for Dedham and Westwood.

At least 10 troopers were searching the area.

We have no information as to what they were specifically looking for or if anything was found, but, you may remember it was last week police reissued a photo in hopes of finding a missing driver’s side mirror from a silver grey 2013 Nissan Altima.

It could be located anywhere from Boston to North Attleboro, Mass. in either a wooded or secluded area.

Hernandez is charged in Odin Lloyd's murder. The Boston man's body was found near Hernandez's home in North Attleboro.
