(NECN/KTVN: Reno, Nevada) - The Senate's top Democrat is coming out against construction of a Mosque near the Ground Zero site.
Majority Leader Harry Reid says, although Muslims have a legal right to build the Mosque, erecting one near Ground Zero may not be best.
"The Constitution gives us freedom of religion, but I think it's very obvious the mosque should be built someplace else."
Reid is also calling on Republicans to back a Democratic bill that would provide health care aid and compensation for first responders to the 9-11 attacks.
