(NECN) - This weekend, college basketball will take center court at Boston's TD Garden. It's the first annual Boston Tip-off Classic.

This morning we were joined by Skip Connors, a former UMass player and event organizer.

He says there will be four teams and a total of two games, one at 4 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can also expect entertainment between games, and a special mystery guest to make an appearance.

By next year, Connors hopes to have other teams from around the country also involved.

"We're looking to have the local flavor and hopefully we're going to turn this into a national tournament," he said.
