(NECN: Kristen Carosa) - Andrew Crotty was among the first to see the newly released "American Hustle" at a Worcester, Mass. movie theater Friday.
He's wanted to see the movie for months because of the scenes shot locally in the city he grew up in.
"They used the train station, they used city hall, there were a couple of shots of main street - it was so cool," he says.
Many scenes from Worcester can be seen in the film, which is set in the 1970's in New Jersey and New York.
Its already received seven Golden Globe nominations, which features many big name actors including Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale, and Jennifer Lawrence.
"I was hoping that the entire film would be at the Worcester Art Museum, but I realize that there are a lot of other locations in Worcester that are great - it's so great for the city," Adam Rozan of the Worcester Art Museum says.
Rozan says crews filmed at the Worcester Art Museum - just one location that makes an appearance early in the movie.
"I heard that characters walked right through here where we are standing but I don't know for sure because it was a closed set," Rozan says.
Rozan shows us where crews filmed earlier this year.
"I personally haven't seen it yet - but I can't wait to do so - to see the Rembrandt and to pay attention the story," he says.
The Worcester Memorial Auditorium is also featured along with Nick's Bar and Grill on Millbury Street. Main and Mechanic Streets also host a number of scenes.
"I thought the scenery was great and the characters were great," Crotty says.
For Crotty, the film was worth the wait. He says it's great to see Worcester in such a big spotlight.
"It's usually done in California, so it's awesome to see this type of movie come to Worcester," he says.
