(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - Winter has arrived. Parts of eastern and and central Massachusetts are still cleaning up tonight after a winter snow storm blew through. The Cape and other portions of southeastern Massachusetts were hit the hardest, causing numerous traffic accidents. The storm left 4-8 inches on the ground.

Born and raised in Florida, Hanna, an 8-year-old golden retriever didn't quite know what to make of the year's first fallen snow in Worcester Tuesday morning.

On the first day of winter a light snow fell throughout central Massachusetts. It was enough to make the center of Grafton look a little more festive. Jan Barrlow says she got what she wished for this Christmas, fresh snow just in time for the holidays,

The snow made extra work for hockey players in Worcester's Elm Park. Despite the inconvenience they would like to see even more.
