| January 9, 2009 Phish hitting the road, skipping Vermont

(NECN: Anya Huneke, Charlotte, VT) - Fans of the band Phish have just been handed some good news. The Vermont-grown group, whose members announced a few months ago they were getting back together, has now put out its tour dates. Many Vermont fans are hell-bent on getting tickets.
In different corners of Rachel Carter's Charlotte, Vermont, house and her in it, it is easy to find traces of the music band, Phish. Her furniture is adorned with Phish concert pictures, her cats are named after Phish songs and her public relations business was even built -- based on life lessons she learned at Phish concerts.
So, it goes without saying, she was heart-broken when the Vermont-grown jam band broke up almost five years ago.
Then, just as she was getting off the emotional roller coaster, there was news this past fall that the foursome was getting back together.
Many Phish fans have gone to more shows than they can count on all their fingers and toes. They can now add to that -- three more this March in Virginia and just announced yesterday, ten more on top of that in June, in various venues.
Looking at the list, though, there are no events scheduled for Vermont, their home state, where they played their farewell concert in 2004. That's a little disappointing to some fans.
