(NECN) - With new films opening in theaters and the Golden Globe Awards being held this week, film critic and host of FrugalYankee.com Garen Daly shares his thoughts on both topics. The Lovely Bones The problem with the film is the expectations people had coming into it, having read the book. Most of the cast, including Mark Wahlberg, is miscast. No connection can be made to the characters and it's difficult to know for whom to root. Book of Eli A post-apocalyptic film, this is an action story in line with Mad Max. The film is a lot of fun, has some flaws, but is enjoyable.
