Zeo claims to have answer for sleepless nights


(NECN: Latoyia Edwards, Newton, Mass.) - Millions of Americans wish they could get a good night's sleep. A Newton, Massachusetts company says it has the answer.

Endless nights without sleep crazed Al Pacino in 2002's insomnia.

Insomnia also inspired three sleep deprived Brown University students to create a system for people to get some quality rest.

They launched Zeo in June, with the help of a science advisory board and five years of research.

Zeo turned heads recently at one the nation's largest sleep conferences. Now outlets like USA Today and the Wall Street Journal are profiling the Newton, Massachusetts based business.

Zeo customers download their sleep activity into an online account at MyZeo.com they track there sleep distractions-- and receive online counseling to achieve the ideal amount of sleep for their age group -- instead of an IQ Zeo customers get a ZQ.

Doctor Michael Biber who overseas the sleep labs at the neurocare center says a lack of z's can destroy your health.

20 to 80 million Americans have trouble getting a good night sleep regularly.

Zeo officials will not say how many products they've sold. The sleep system is only available on line.
