(NECN/KXLY) - A wayward moose wandered into Spokane, Washington Saturday morning sending police on a wild "moose" chase.

The animal was spotted near a high school and then wandered through a neighborhood, crossing streets and yards.

Spokane police stop traffic on a major north-south road while they tried to corral the moose.

Police called the Department of Fish and Wildlife to come out and remove the animal, but there was no agent available.

Police stayed with the animal until someone could show up send it back to the wild.
