(NECN) - Rhode Island health officials have recommended that twelve beaches be closed due to high bacteria counts.

The Department of Health said beaches in Barrington, Bristol, North Kingstown, Warwick and several others are not safe for swimming.

Camp Canonicus in Exeter and Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick have already closed.
