(NECN/ESPNU: East Hartford, Conn.) - Handing the University of Connecticut Huskies the team's second straight loss since the death of cornerback Jasper Howard, Rutgers pulled off a 28-24 in the game's final seconds to walk off with its first conference win of the season.
Tim Brown scored on an 81-yard touchdown pass with 22 seconds left in the game.
UConn's backup quarterback Zach Frazer threw for 333 yards and a touchdown, leading the Huskies to come back from a 21-10 fourth quarter deficit. With 38 seconds remaining, Jordan Todman ran the ball into the end zone from two yards out. Little did the Huskies fans know that Rutgers had one last improbable touchdown in them.
It was UConn's first home game since Howard's death two weeks ago. Brown, who scored the game-winning touchdown, was Howard's friend growing up in Miami.
