| June 18, 2009 Report: North Korea plans missile launch toward Hawaii
|
(NECN) - North Korea may fire a long range ballistic missile toward Hawaii next month, according to a report in Japan's largest newspaper.
North Korea could reportedly launch a missile with a 4,000 mile range between July 4th and 8th.
It would not have the capability to hit Hawaii's main islands which are about 4,500 miles away.
The United States has yet to issue a comment on the report
Some U.S. Generals have previously said it would take at least three to five years for North Korea to pose a real threat to the United States.
Last month, the communist nation conducted its second underground nuclear test.
