Do You Love Girl Scouts' Thin Mints? Well, You'll Have to Dish Out Another $1 to Get Them

C'mon. We all know it's almost impossible to say no to those little Girl Scouts when they arrive on your doorstep selling cookies.

And, whether it's Thin Mints, Tagalongs or Samoas, we all have our favorites. But, there's some bad news for you cookie lovers out there.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts have announced that they will increase the price of a package of Girl Scout cookies to $5.

The $1 price increase goes into effect with the start of the 2015-2016 Cookie Program, Dec. 11.

The additional revenue will increase investments in programs for girls, scholarships and camperships for girls, and training for adult volunteers.

The price adjustment also aligns the consumer price of cookies with the council's increased wholesale cost from the baker over the past eight to 10 years, and helps to meet the rising cost of program activities.

This is the first price increase in at least eight years.

Girl Scouts cookies will be available from Dec. 11, 2015 through March 2016.
