2 Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision

1 driver was flown to an out-of-state hospital with life-threatening injuries

Police in Bedford, New Hampshire, are investigating after two people were transported to hospitals following a head-on collision Monday.

Police responded to the scene of the accident on Route 101 between Covenant Way and Jenkins Road at 5:17.

Investigation showed a 1999 Ford Contour operated by a 20 year old male from Manchester crossed the center line for unknown reasons. The vehicle then hit a landscape trailer being towed by a truck.

The Contour then struck a 2004 Chevy 2500 pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the Chevy, a 49-year-old woman from Bedford, was taken to local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the Contour was flown to an out-of-state hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Traffic on Route 101 was re-routed for about two hours.
