New England Aquarium Debuts Two New Seals

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The New England Aquarium now has the country's largest colony of Northern Fur Seals of any zoo or aquarium.

Roxie and Tax today joined five other seals currently on exhibit.

Northern Fur Seals have the second thickest fur in the word with 300,000 hairs per square inch.

They were nearly hunted to extinction for their fur in the 1800s. They have since recovered, but are still a threatened species.
