Graduates of the University of Connecticut’s College of Engineering began the next phase of their life after an out-of-this-world launch into the real world.
NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio spoke to students while floating upside down inside the International Space Station 260 miles above the Earth.
Mastracchio's six-and-a-half minute speech was broadcast on the Gampel Pavilion scoreboards to about 5,000 graduates, their families and friends.
His wife accepted an honorary degree on her husband's behalf.
