Bill Fitzgerald, co-owner of Mann Orchards in Methuen, predicts he'll collect over 360,000 pounds of appkles this year.
There are factors that can stop this from happening,
John Howcroft, owner of Perry Hill Orchards in Acushnet, says he lost his harvest last year after a winter moth invasion.
Howcroft added that heavy snow insluating the ground and a dry spring have contributed to the growth.
