Man Accused of Using Heroin Behind the Wheel
    Salem Police Department

A New Hampshire man faces several charges after police say he shot up heroin while behind the wheel of his SUV.

Police in Salem say Alexander DiMaggio of Atkinson took heroin in the parking lot of the Mall at Rockingham Park, where he was found passed out behind the wheel of his car Sunday evening.

When he was woken up, DiMaggio allegedly drove off, crashing into a parked car, a tree and finally a fire hydrant.

No one was injured, but DiMaggio was arrested.

The 28-year-old man will be arraigned Monday on reckless conduct, driving under the influence of drugs and heroin possession.
