Mom: 10-Year-Old Daughter Tied Up at Gunpoint in Home Invasion

Police in Milford, Massachusetts, are investigating a report that a 10-year-old girl was tied to a chair at gunpoint during what a mother is calling a home invasion.

"My daughter is okay, which is the most important thing to me," said the unidentified mother of the child.

Milford Police are not confirming this is a home invasion, but that they are in the process of interviewing witnesses. They say this is an isolated incident and that residents in the area should not be concerned.

The mom believes the male intruder, who she says was armed with a gun, slipped in through an unlocked door just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

She says her daughter was sleeping on a couch on the first floor when the intruder tied her up with yellow packing tape.

"From my understanding, she was sleeping, a gentleman woke her up with a gun, tied her up to the kitchen chair and apparently he took a couple of figurines from the kitchen and left."

The mom says she was notified of what had happened while she was at work.

"I got a phone call at work from my brother basically just stating that my daughter was tied up. Basically just ran out of work and came home and the police were here."

She says her daughter was scared because her mouth, chest and hands were tied. According to the mother, the girl was crying and doesn't remember what the alleged man with the gun said to her.

She also says her brother and sister-in-law were home in a back room and didn't hear what was happening. She believes the man thought no one was home.

"That's what I'm assuming, they came in. Probably came to rob. She said he had a bag," she said.

The woman says that the family is so terrified at this point they are now looking to move.
