‘No Respect': Veterans' Gravestones Vandalized

Gravestones were knocked over, figurines were broken and flags thrown on the ground after vandals hit the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts over the weekend.

“I just think that these are kids that have nothing better to do with their time. They have no respect,” said Jane Borus, the granddaughter of Lillian and Joseph Andre. Joseph Andre served in the military.

She added, “I just break down and cry because I don’t understand why anyone could possibly that, knock over some grave stones.”

It’s the fourth time in three years graves here have been hit by vandals according to Lauren Delaney, who helps run the private cemetery.

Delaney said, “Somebody really seems to have something against veterans.”

Each time it’s been just before an important holiday like Memorial Day and Independence Day.
Most of the graves that are typically targeted are of those who have served our country.

Delaney said, “The kids who did this I’m sure they’re bragging. Someone knows something.”

This time it’s Veteran’s Day, and investigators say people should be honoring those who have served instead of desecrating their tombs.

Police have no description of any possible suspects. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help cemetery volunteers take care of some of the repairs.
