The holidays can be a hectic time, but the YMCA in Merrimack is making one experience a bit calmer for some children: Visiting Santa.
The Nashua Telegraph reports that Santa's visit to the YMCA on Saturday is designed to create a calm experience for children with autism, sensory issues or difficulties with noisy shopping mall settings. Officials say families with children with special needs often skip the traditional mall visit.
The free event was organized by The PLUS Company, which provides support and services to help individuals with developmental disabilities maximize their independence.
