Police: Unlicensed Motorcyclist Admits to Traveling 185 MPH

The suspect was identified as David Fries, 31, of Manchester, NH

New Hampshire State Police arrested a motorcyclist for reaching speeds over 100 MPH in a 65 MPH zone early Saturday.

Around 2:45 a.m., a trooper spotted a motorcycle traveling at 127 MPH on Interstate 93 in Bow.

The trooper attempted to stop the motorcyclist and a chase ensued off the highway. The suspect eventually ran a red light and crashed into a guard rail, before continuing to flee on foot.

The suspect was identified as David Fries, 31, of Manchester. He was arrested about 45 minutes after the crash and admitted to reaching speeds of 185 MPH before exiting the highway.

Fries was charged with reckless operation, operating without a motorcycle license, disobeying a police officer, transportation of drugs, conduct after an accident, resisting arrest or detention, and possession of a controlled drug.

Fries was transported to Concord Hospital with a broken ankle from the crash and injuries from the canine detention. He has since been released and is being held on cash bail at the Merrimack County Jail.
