Police Officer on Bike Struck by Motorist

A Keene, New Hampshire, police officer was struck by a car on Sunday around 12 a.m.

A Keene, New Hampshire, police officer was struck by a car on Sunday around 12 a.m.

Officer Matthew Griffin was riding his department-issued patrol bike when he was struck.

Officer Griffin went around a roundabout and began heading towards Marlboro Street. A car operated by Edna "Amber" Britton, 20, entered the roundabout and struck Officer Griffin near the Marlboro Street intersection.

Officer Griffin was knocked off his bicycle and onto the pavement as a result of the accident. He suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cheshire Medical Center.

Britton stopped her vehicle, called in the crash, and waited for authorities to arrive. She was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
