A teacher and former teacher at Chariho High School in Rhode Island have been arraigned on charges related to accusations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Police arrested Paul LaFrance at his West Greenwich home Tuesday on one count of indecent solicitation of a child and two counts of sexual assault.
He did not enter a plea at his arraignment in Washington County District Court and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
Police said John Wedlock, a former science teacher, turned himself in and was arraigned on a felony charge of indecent solicitation of a child. He was released on $50,000 personal recognizance.
Police say a student's mother told administrators she believed her daughter, between 14 and 16 years old, was having an inappropriate relationship with Wedlock.
It was not known Wednesday if they are represented by lawyers.
