Police are investigating after a teen was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside a recreation center in Rhode Island's capital city.
The shooting was first reported around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. It happened in front of the Neutaconkanut Recreation Center on Plainfield Street in Providence's Silver Lake section.
The victim, an unidentified 18-year-old Bristol man, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital for surgery. He is currently in critical, but stable condition.
Witnesses told police the gunman fled on foot and was close in age to the victim. A vehicle at the scene is being examined.
