Two Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on I-395

State Police are investigating a suspected wrong-way crash that killed two people on Thursday night in Thompson.

A flatbed tow truck and a car got into a head-on crash on Interstate 395 North, near exit 99, just after 8:30 p.m.

Investigators believe the flatbed truck was traveling north on I-395, approaching the area of Exit 99, when a Chrysler Sebring got onto I-395 North, going the wrong way and the vehicles crashed.

The male driver and the female passenger in the Sebring were killed and the driver of the tow-truck was not injured, according to State Police.

Police have not released the names of the two people who died.

The road was closed for 5 hours and traffic was detoured as State Police investigated the accident.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact  Troop-D at (860) 779-4900
