A Vermont woman is facing drunken driving and child cruelty charges after crashing her car with a young child inside the vehicle.
Vermont State Police say 24-year-old Shannon Pinsonneault of Bennington was driving a Hyundai Sonata northbound on Route 7 in Pownal on Wednesday just before 4:30 a.m. when her vehicle left the road and hit a telephone pole.
Responding troopers arrested her for driving under the influence of alcohol and cruelty to a child after finding a young child inside her vehicle.
Pinsonneault was released on a citation to appear in Bennington Superior Court on June 5.
It's unclear if she has an attorney.
