    (NECN: Jim Braude) - Meterologist Matt Noyes analyzes the coverage of storms, saying that many scientists and news anchors are uncomfortable with expressing uncertainty.

    He worries that even though Irene may not have lived up to expectations, the element of unpredictability in forecasting could result in the public not taking future predictions seriously.

    "That is the challenge of our business, to express uncertainty" with regard to weather predictions, he said.
