What companies are the best ones to work for in Boston? The Boston Business Journal is honoring its 2014 Best Places to Work on Thursday evening.

Boston Business Journal managing editor Craig Douglas says it's the Journal's 12th year selecting the best companies to work for in Boston.

"To be honest with you, it's our best event of the year. All of these companies come, they buy tables, they have all of their employees come and they're just amped up," he said.

Douglas said the Journal does a countdown to the best company.

"The rankings are based on surveys that employees take within these companies and we work with an outside company, Quantum Research, and they send them online and then they come back, and they're based on all sorts of things, from workplace karma to, you know, management to events outside of the office," he said.
