Fighting the Flu at College

(NECN: Deanna Morgan, Boston) - Boston College Administrators notified students before the end of winter break to get a flu shot before they came back, but not everyone heeded the warning.

"I think I'm gonna go get mine," says Jackie Michalik, a Boston College Graduate Student.

Michalik is still working in it. She knows about the flu emergency in Boston.

The good news: she hasn't gotten sick yet.

Neither has Connor Rooney, a senior at Boston College. He got his flu shot back in November.

"The flu is going around and everything and everyone should be careful of that," says Rooney.

Boston College Administrators says they're going to be extra careful. In fact, they're going to keep the campus extra clean. You can never be too cautious with the flu vaccine.

"Everyone's in close proximity in the dormitories and...classes everyday, you encounter a lot of people day in and day out, and if you're near someone who's got the flu, you're gonna catch it," says Rooney.
