Higher Gas Prices Cause Pain at the Pump

(NECN: John Moroney, Tewksbury, Mass.) - Over the past few weeks, prices at the pump have been increasing.

Now once again, the average for a gallon of regular is nearly $3.

Prices have been inching up over the last few months, and it's all because the price of crude oil is going up. The price of a barrel of oil is at nearly $90.

Prices are also rising in the United States because the national economy is getting stronger while the dollar is getting weaker.

AAA says nationally right now, the average price of a regular gallon of gas is at $2.97. They say the price could top out at $3.15 by the end of the year.

There are already a number of states at that level, including Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine.
