MA State Police Investigating Possible Assault of Lifeguard

(NECN) - Massachusetts State Police units are investigating the assault of a 20-year-old woman at Breakheart Reservation in Saugus.

At 2:13 p.m. troopers began responding to the reservation to help search for the woman, a lifeguard there, after it was reported that she was missing.

At 3:18 p.m. an Environmental Police Officer located the woman on a trail in the reservation. She reported having been assaulted by a man.

The young woman has been transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital with potentially serious injuries.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers from the Danvers Barracks, the Troop A Community Action Team, the State Police K-9 Section and the Essex County State Police Detective Unit.
