(NECN) - Rebekah Brooks has reportedly been arrested in the News of the World hacking investigation, according to the Associated Press.
The 43-year-old Brooks, Rupert Murdoch's former British CEO, becomes the 10th person to be arrested over the News Corp. scandal.
Brooks, according to the Associated Press, says she is assisting with the police and their inquiries about phone hacking and police bribery.
The former CEO was arrested at a London police station at noon Sunday by appointment. She stepped down Friday as head of Murdoch's British newspapers. Brooks was the editor of News of the World between 2000 and 2003, when some of the phone hacking took place, but she claims she was not aware of any hacking taking place.
