Will Ferrell Drops Mark Twain Award

(NECN/KENNEDY CENTER; WETA WASHINGTON D.C. & MT PRIZE PARTNERS J.V.) - Funnyman Will Ferrell received a big honor in Washington, D.C. on Sunday night.

In a star-studded ceremony, the actor/comedian was awarded the Mark Twain prize for American humor.

The prize is given to comedians who use social commentary and satire to impact society.

Ferrell's impression of George W. Bush was a hit on both "Saturday Night Live" and Broadway. He's also known for starring roles in such films as "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and "Old School."

When he was awarded the prize, a bronze bust of Twain, Ferrell promptly dropped it on stage and tried to pick up the broken pieces.
