Arrest Made After Separate Pursuits

Police in Manchester, New Hampshire, have arrested a man following two separate police pursuits.

Police in Manchester, New Hampshire, have arrested a man following two separate police pursuits.

Dale Calawa, 51, of Manchester, was arrested following the pursuits.

Early Friday morning at 12:25, an officer in the area of Beech Street and Manchester Street observed a person speeding past a stop sign at a high speed of rate.

The officer was able to see the suspect and informed other police in the area. The pursuit ended at Maple Street and Londonberry Lane when the operator fled the running vehicle on foot.

A short time later another officer observed a car with a female driver and a male passenger matching the description of the suspect. The officer pulled the car over and arrested Calawa without incident.

The female driver was released from the scene and not charged with any crime.

A small amount of crack cocaine was located in Calawa’s vehicle.

He was charged with possession of a narcotic drug, resisting arrest and reckless operation, among other charges.

He will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court of Manchester on Friday.
