Ex-Boy Scouts Scoutmaster Accused of Sexually Assaulting Scout

Eugene Perrault, of Newfields, was arrested Monday

A New Hampshire man who was a Boy Scouts scoutmaster in the mid-1990s through 2006 has been accused of sexually assaulting a former scout.

Eugene Perrault, of Newfields, was arrested Monday. Police said a man approached them recently saying he was assaulted by Perreault about 20 years ago. Police said the man was younger than 13 at the time.

The 69-year-old Perreault was a scoutmaster in Newfields and Epping. He was released after posting bail and is scheduled to be in court Dec. 13. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer. He declined to comment on the aggravated felonious sexual assault charge.

Police said Perreault was Newfields' health officer, and that he was removed from that job Monday.
