Police in Portland, Maine are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man who was discovered semi-conscious early Friday by workers collecting trash.
According to police, the Portland man was discovered just before 2 a.m. in the area of 87 Free Street. The man died despite attempts by responding paramedics to resuscitate him.
Police said the man was walking west on Free Street from the area of the Cross Insurance Arena with an unknown man shortly before he was found in distress.
The other man is described as a white male and he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen walking on Oak Street towards Congress Street, police said.
