Inmate Who Walked Away From Work Site Captured

An inmate who walked away from a work site in Maine has been captured.

State police say Jonathan Edman was assigned to a work site in Kingsbury Plantation on Route 16 when he ran off Tuesday morning.

Edman, a 20-year-old inmate at the Charleston Correctional Facility, was caught just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of routes 151 and 154 in Brighton, about seven miles from where he ran away.

He has been serving a five year sentence since March 2016 for assault, tampering with a witness, juror or victim and domestic violence assault convictions.

No other details were immediately available.
