Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Girl

Cary Allen, of South China, pleaded guilty Thursday to unlawful sexual contact and unlawful sexual touching under the Alford doctrine

A Maine man has pleaded guilty to charges he sexually abused a 10-year-old girl.

The Kennebec Journal reports
30-year-old Cary Allen, of South China, pleaded guilty Thursday to unlawful sexual contact and unlawful sexual touching under the Alford doctrine.

The Alford plea means he doesn't agree with the state's evidence but acknowledges there's enough to warrant a conviction.

Prosecutors say the offenses occurred between Nov. 1, 2010 and Feb. 28, 2011 in South China when the girl was at home.

Allen was sentenced to 10 days in jail. He is prohibited from having contact with the victim and must undergo counseling.
