Two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in Boston on Tuesday afternoon -- one of them fatally.
Boston Police said an 88-year-old woman was later pronounced dead after being struck by a car just after 4:30 p.m. near 4593 Washington Street. The driver made himself known to police and the crash is not considered a hit-and-run. Police have not released the name of that victim.
Boston Police said another pedestrian was struck by a car around 5:11 p.m. at Tremont Place and Beacon Street.

There is no word yet on that victim’s injuries. The driver in that crash was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Police continue to investigate both crashes.
