During Black History Month, a Massachusetts lawmaker and an advocacy group are urging diners to visit black-owned restaurants.
"Join State Rep. Chynah Tyler and Urban Affairs Group for the Boston Black Restaurant Challenge," read a statement on the website for a monthlong event. "We are challenging everyone to visit 4 Black Owned Restaurants during the month of February."
The challenge kicked off Feb. 1 at Roxbury's Suya Joint, one of the dozens of participating restaurants in Boston.
Patrons are being asked to share their photos and videos on the challenge's Facebook page.
