A report suggests President Barack Obama would back a presidential bid by Vice President Joe Biden if Biden names former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick as his running mate.
Former New York Times Magazine Editor Ed Klein outlined the scenario on his website this week, according to The Boston Herald.
Klein also stated that in the arrangement, Biden would agree not to run for re-election in 2020, but instead back Patrick as his successor.
A spokesman for Patrick did not return a request for comment by the Herald.
Biden is still considering a run for president at this time.
