Fired Teacher Arrested, Causes School Lockdown

Robert Moulton will be charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace

A former Massachusetts teacher is under arrest after violating a restraining order and showing up on campus Thursday morning.

School officials say 46-year-old Robert Moulton tried to enter Dracut High School, but a school secretary would not let him in and called 911.

Investigators say Moulton shouted, "I'm not leaving until I'm arrested."

Moulton was fired last year after reading a profanity-laced story in class, and then writing sexually provocative language in his classroom according to Dracut Superintendent Steve Stone.

Moulton, who had been with the district for 17 years and taught English, lost an arbitration decision earlier this week.

His wife told NECN he was upset and was only trying to deliver a letter to the school. She says he would never have hurt anyone.

Moulton is due in Lowell District Court Friday to face several charges, including trespassing.

Police did not find any weapons on him, but say during the booking process, Moulton said he would go back to the school if he was released.
